"My meeting with Venedict Yerofeyev's prose had the magic touch of a love at first sight. As the 20th Century had so many good, very good or excellent writers, I have imagined that I could not be surprised anymore. And, all of the sudden, the touch of an angel... The humility and the delight of recognizing a genius... Eagerly, I wanted to know if he had also written plays. The delight of discovering, first due to Emil Iordache, the Walpurgisnacht! I was generously helped and initiated in the meeting with this play by Mrs. Letiţia Becherescu, and then Mrs. Maşa Dinescu gracefully fulfilled this exalting meeting. As pathetic as it may sound, I want to confess that I have only one regret... And a tear in my soul. HE will not be present at the opening night. I believe it is for the second time, after Gellu Naum, when this hurts... when it hurts me..."
